How it works

Use your work email (e.g. alice@acme.com) to claim your organization’s domain, or a personal address for an individual plan. We send a confirmation link — click it to activate your account.

Forward the email as-is to:

safety@scan.mylinkshield.com

Anyone at your claimed domain can forward. No login required for the forwarder — the reply goes to whoever sent it.

Within seconds, each link is analyzed through independent sources:

• Google Safe Browsing — Google’s phishing and malware database.
• VirusTotal — consensus from 70+ antivirus engines.
• Redirect chain — we follow every hop and flag cross-domain redirects or URL shorteners.
• SSL certificate — is the cert valid, from whom, and how old?
• Domain age — freshly registered domains are a phishing red flag.
• Homograph detection — catches lookalikes like аpple.com (Cyrillic “а”).
• Page content — we render the page in a sandboxed browser and look for fake login forms and brand impersonation.

A reply email arrives with a risk score for every link — safe, low, medium, high, or critical — plus a link to your dashboard with the full analysis from each check.

If you’re on an organization plan, admins see anonymized usage statistics. Forwarded email content is visible only to the person who submitted it.

Every plan has a scan budget. We notify you at 80% and 100%. On paid plans, overage is metered; on free trials, additional scans are declined and the sender receives a short “contact your admin” reply. See pricing for the full tier table.
