Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-23 · Plain-English starting point. Have your own counsel review before launch.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using LinkShield, you agree to these terms. If you’re agreeing on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. The service
LinkShield analyzes URLs contained in emails you forward to our service address and returns a risk report. We make reasonable efforts to detect phishing, malware, and other threats, but no automated system can detect every threat. Use your judgment — especially when a link looks safe but the context doesn’t.
3. Your account
You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and any two-factor credentials. Notify us immediately at security@adams-ai.com if you suspect your account has been compromised.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to harass, stalk, or harm anyone.
- Submit content you know to be illegal or that you don’t have a right to submit.
- Attempt to defeat our rate limits, abuse detection, or access controls.
- Reverse-engineer or resell the service without our written permission.
- Use the service to send spam or to train machine-learning models on the content you submit.
5. Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Overage (scans above your plan’s cap) is metered and billed on the next invoice. You can cancel at any time — cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, and no refunds are issued for unused time.
If payment fails, your account enters a 7-day grace period during which scans continue with an upgrade notice attached. After 7 days, new scans are declined until payment is resolved.
6. Scan quota
Each plan includes a scan budget per billing month. A “scan” is one forwarded email, regardless of how many links it contains. We count any accepted email that we process, even if it contained no extractable links.
7. Data, privacy, and security
Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. We work to secure your data but cannot guarantee against every possible attack.
8. Availability and SLAs
We strive for high availability but do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee on self-serve plans. Enterprise plans may include an SLA on request.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, LinkShield is provided “as is.” Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including damages arising from a link we marked safe that turned out to be malicious.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may close your account at any time — doing so deletes your content per our retention policy.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
